$1M in New Funding Announced for Mobility Innovation Through EVC-MTRAC Partnership

The University of Michigan’s Electric Vehicle Center (EVC) has partnered with the Michigan Translational Research and Commercialization (MTRAC) Advanced Transportation Innovation Hub to provide an additional $1 million in funding for the 2025 MTRAC Transportation cycle. This funding supports research faculty from across Michigan, driving translational research projects with high commercial potential and advancing innovation in mobility and transportation.

Research faculty from all schools, colleges, and units at U-M, as well as other public institutions of higher education, and nonprofit research centers across Michigan, are eligible to apply. Awardees will benefit from MTRAC’s robust support network and resources to help advance their projects.

Projects selected for the EVC-supported funding will receive 80% of their budgets covered, with recipients providing a 20% match. Awardees will also benefit from access to the MTRAC program’s extensive support network and resources, driving innovation and commercialization in Michigan’s mobility ecosystem.
