Join Us at the 2nd Annual Clean Cruise on August 2

Mark your calendar and sign up today for one of Michigan’s most engaging EV community events. The U-M Electric Vehicle Center is proud to return as a sponsor of the second annual Clean Cruise, a free, family-friendly celebration of electric vehicles and sustainable transportation, hosted by our partners at the Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance (MEVA).

This year’s event takes place on Saturday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Memorial Park in Royal Oak, which is just two weeks ahead of the Woodward Dream Cruise. But this one’s different: no engine noise, no tailpipe emissions – just the quiet hum of the future of clean, smart transportation.

Stop by the EV Center booth to meet our faculty, staff, and students, learn more about our research and educational programs, and explore opportunities for collaboration. We’ll be highlighting initiatives like the brand new U-M Battery Lab, our industry-academic research partnerships, and workforce development efforts aimed at accelerating Michigan’s EV transition.

The Clean Cruise will feature nearly 100 electric vehicles on display, including U-M’s award-winning Solar Car – with ride and drive opportunities, mobility leaders, dozens of vendors and nonprofits, food, music, and hands-on activities for kids. Visitors can get an up-close look at some of the latest EV models, and maybe even peek under the hood to admire an EV’s famously spacious frunk.

The day wraps with a Royal Oak Police–escorted EV cruise up and down world-famous Woodward Avenue. No engine revving, no burning rubber – just a smooth, silent procession of beautiful electric cars gliding through town (yes, even through a few red lights).

Whether you’re already driving electric or just EV-curious, Clean Cruise is a great way to plug into Michigan’s mobility future.
